Have you SUDOKU?
Recently I'm addicted to a numbering game called SUDOKU.
The rule is very easy, just have to fill in the grid so that every row, every column and every 3X3 box contains the digits 1 to 9. Easy right? this is the example:
But if you want to solve the puzzle, it really squeeze your whole brain. And the real challenge is you have to beat the game with the best time. My best time is around 5 minutes and I'm still not satisfied with it. I know that HK artist Gigi Leung also quite addicted to it, and her best time is 3+ minutes (let's assume she is telling the truth). I hope i can beat her record very soon :)
Normally I will play this game online. Some websites provide tons of sudoku puzzles FOC, like websudoku. But since it is a very brain-and-eye-exhausted game, I can only play 3-4 games per day or else I will feel myself like a dead fish!
Since I'm so addicted to this game, I went to search for other alternative which can let me play when I'm taking the bus (i spend 1 hr in the bus everyday to work). I've searched the bookstores, there are plenty of sudoku books available but each of them costs more than $20!! This is ridiculuos as most of the books only have 2-300 puzzles at most which i guess i can finish them by few weeks. And I can't re-play again as I will write all the answer on each page (if not how to solve? Erase is too time-consuming).
Thus, I opt for 2nd choice -- a sudoku machine, an electronic version of hand-held sudoku machine, which can let me play wherever i go. Last 2 weeks I saw a few versions when I walked pass Seiyu Department store. A normal machine still costs $20+ but it contains 1 million different puzzles and with a timer as well to record the resolving best time. If you rich enough, you can buy the machine with a touch screen which costs twice the normal price. Just now I try to google the sudoku machine and found plenty of different machines available actually. Luckily Singapore market is smaller and does not has plenty of choices, so I dont need to get a headache in selecting one haha... (see? small country also has some benefits :P ) This is one of the example of the sudoku machine I may have one day:
Anyone want to sponsor it? :)
