Low Crime Doesn't Mean No Crime

Really anything can happen in this world.

This Tuesday two of our floormates in my company lost their foods in the fridge at our shared pantry. They were 1 box of swiss rolls and another with pineapple slices. This was amazingly happened in a research body where 90% of people are well educated, and ridiculously happened in the afternoon of a working day. Funny rite?

Actually this was not the first time i've heard of such cases. Few years back when i was doing my master studies in NUS, similar cases happened as well. Things been disappearing on and off from a pack of milk in fridge, a pack of mixed rice in the cupboard, a pair of branded sunglasses on the bench in lab, even the labtop on the study desk!! At last, the bosses agreed to put up hidden camera in the corridor etc. I'm not sure whether it does help or not as i was leaving the lab before they installed the cameras (how lucky i am!).

So the conclusion is dont over estimate the educated people (even phD) as they never do any crime. Most people learn the knowledge in school and not morals! (I suspect some phD around me don't even have good knowledge as well...) Maybe they dare to do crime with the thought that no one will suspect them right?

The best way to prevent any crime is to be careful ourselves. Dont expose any valuable and memorable belongings in the air unattended to attract any unwanted attention! It's our fault too for not keeping our belongings in a safer way!
