Always passing Clementi Road and never notice there's a new trendy dining place at Sunset Way until my fren who staying there updated me few days ago. Finally we had chance yesterday night and dropped by to have a look.
Wow, it's something like a mini Holland Village, a whole row of new restaurants and bar/pub quietly settled down here, and each fronted with decking that provides outdoor cozy dining environment. There are 9 restaurants currently: steamboat with bbq, western, bar/pub, japanese, Thai, NZ ice cream, local, pizza and HK cafe.
Well, we chose HK style of Cafe d'Orient, and it was a mistake!!!
First , they put "NO MSG, no GST or service tax" in their menu, doesnt mean they shouldnt have better service right? Most of their waiters giving us a "dark" face, no smiling at all like i am owning them some bucks.
Secondly , of course about their food. We ordered famous HK chut chin yat ting noodle with portugese source which tastes like curry powder; a soya bean fried toufu with no soya bean taste; a plate of fried rice with no fragrance at all and no taste; as well as a mango ice in their dessert section, which turn up just ordinary mango ice cream and no single mango inside. Very disappointed!
I think their only good side is their creative old style of toilet, which looks like old china bridal's room!
but never mind, I still have another 8 restaurants to try in future.
Tomorrow is another day :)
